SBC Week 10: Audit

Hi, it’s hmsjenny here, today I am going to reflect on my participation of the SBC.

I participated in all 10 of the Student Blogging Challenge. Some of these SBCs were a little difficult but I found my ways. I wrote 10 posts for all of the SBCs. I received about 9 comments during the time. Some were from random strangers, and some were from my classmates. I enjoyed writing My Family Christmas Celebration post because Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I talk about my family tradition. I used Via Creative Commons, the pictures that I use represent my personality. My plans are that I will post, but not every single day. I had my mom interview my blog and this is what she said:

  1. What were your first impressions? Mom – ” My first impressions were that I wasn’t shocked how organized your blog is”
  2. What captured your attention? Mom – “The nice bright moving background captured my attention”
  3. What distracted you on the blog? Mom – “The background distracted me”
  4. What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog? Mom – “Maybe have some more color to your blog”

Well, that’s it for today, hope my mom’s opinions about my blog make you want to ask someone about your blog, bye!

SBC Week 9: 5 minutes of Code Activity.

Hi, it’s hmsjenny here, today I am going to talking to you guys about an activity I am doing.

It’s this game called How to Create Your Own Flappy Bird Game. It is really fun, and you can learn the basics behind how to create the famous flappy bird. It teaches you how to create and understand the process of making a game. There are instructions that help you create your own. You are guided by directions and you have blocks that make sure the bird knows how to fly, move, and die. This game will also help your understanding of coding.

Coding is basically another way to communicate. People use codes when they want to say something, but they really can’t. There are many different ways of coding. Here is a quick tutorial on an Easy Way to Code. Some codes are super easy to understand, some are really difficult and takes a lot of time to understand. Coding is important in different ways to some people, for some, it’s just weird letters. It takes a lot of courage to understand the ways of coding.

It’s an easy step by step process on how to code. I didn’t learn how to code yet, but the Flappy Bird game helped me create my own way of coding. There are other different types of games that can help you code. Check out this Hour of Code website. This website gives you multiple options for games that you can do. Some games you might be familiar of, and some aren’t. I chose the Flappy Bird one because I wanted to know how they make the bird flap and move at the same time. Now I do.

That’s all for today, I hope these notes about coding will help you, bye!
